Luther-&-Hus-Medal

Anyone have any info on this German medal? The obverse has a facing bust of Martin Luther. The legend around the portrait is "Was jene Gans gedacht, Hat dieser Schwan vollbracht" (What meant this goose, this swan has done). D MARTIN LUTHER is in the exergue.

The reverse has a side portrait of John Hus with the legend "ist zu costnite verbrand. 1415 d. 6 julii"(is burned at Constance. 1415 6 July)./ M.> JOHANNES HUS is in the exergue.

I gather it was struck to honor the Reformation. The medal is white metal (maybe silver) measuring 25.9mm in diameter, 2.3mm thick at the busts which are high relief), and weighs 5.99 grams. Apparently there was a loop at the top which has been broken off.

Thanks in advance.

Here is a similar medal (well, the side showing Martin Luther is about the same), and the seller assumes it is from 1717:

So maybe that applies to your piece as well. As for the motto on the "Luther side", it refers to what Hus (is said to have) said shortly being killed. See http://www.lutheranpress.com/swan.htm for the background.

The one that matches mine except by my measurement mine is 0.2mm smaller (but I use a crude plastic micro0meter).
