Hello,

I have taken up dime RCH as a hobby here lately and would like to know if anyone has had experience with Coinalyzer.

This is one of the more common coin separators listed on ebay.

Doesn't seem like it'd be worth it for dimes. Cents might be 10-15% copper, dimes are going to be something like 0.05% silver.

If you are referring to the one that I think you are (it is about $90 on ebay), they don't seem to be worth it from the video I watched. You need to hand feed the machines, pretty much one at a time to prevent jams. Then if it does jam, you need to take the time to fix it. I would assume you would save very little time, if any.

Now, if you are talking about the one with the hopper, that you just dump a few hundred at a time, and it feeds it one at a time, then I would think that would be worth it. However, that one is 4x more.

Yes, I was talking about the $90 version. Being in over a hundred just does not make sense to me when
I can simply place them in the clear, plastic tubes and scan the edges fairly effectively.

As for half dollars, I do each and every one of those.

The dimes I am referring to are pre-1965 dimes containing 90% silver.

I am still finding them.

I think he meant that you have a .05% chance of finding silver dimes, where you have a 10-15% chance of finding copper pennies, but I could be wrong.

That would make more sense. As for pennies, in my area the odds are much better of finding pure coppers.

Personally, I think hoarding pennies is a bet the Fed will discontinue their use. Right now, I am not
focusing a lot on pennies.
