Wondering why this nickel is black. I have tried to wipe it nothing comes off it is very shinny, the reverse has partial areas that are black, rim is all black like the obverse. there are no silver colored sgratches or worn areas that arent black on obverse. It's definitely some kind of post mint damage.

Also, it's generally not a good idea to wipe coins, even though this one is only worth face value
