Hey, what is with the double letter prefix on notes? I have here a 2004A 20$ star note with the prefix GK. All I know is that one of the letters indicates which federal reserve bank it comes from. Enlightenment on the subject would be appreciated :)

Starting with Series 1996 notes, the first letter corresponds to the Series (all Series 1996 notes start with A). Subsequent advance this letter by one for each series.

The second letter represents the fed district.
