Soviet Railways Token Information Please

This rather unusual Russian token was issued by the Soviet Railways, probably in the 1950's or 60's. It is uniface brass, with the crossed hammer and wrench emblem used by the SZD Soviet Railways. I don't know what the token was used for, however. It could be a pay check.

If anyone can throw any light on this token please let me know.

This looks more like a badge or a tag to me. I don't believe Soviet RR passengers/customers ever had to handle any kind of tokens.
This is rather what an engineer or a technician would handle. I tried to google "ТКИП" but did not see any relevant info.

Thank you for your suggestions. I would agree this was most likely used by a railwayman rather than a passenger, unless its a left luggage key tally.

One thought that just occurred to me is whether it is a sleeping car steward's key tag.
