I've been getting 3 different proof like sets for the mother in law for her b-day. One for her b-day 62, my wife 81, and my daughter 07. Now I have the first 2 and now I'm looking for 2007 and I keep seeing different descriptions such as 2007 Proof Like set STRAIGHT 7 or specimen or curved 7 set - Whats the difference between them other that the name and which set would be like the previous 2? Thank-you! CHEERS!
Proof-Like set are usually plastic packaged coins. See the RCM's legendary 12-pack of quarters to see what I mean. Proof sets will come in a display case of some sort.
The 2007 PL 10c (dime) came in two varieties, a curved 7 and a straight 7 (the vertical portion of the 7). The circulation coin came only with the straight 7, as far as I know. The "basic" set would be the curved 7 PL set.
