I had to take this picture! The first thing I thought of when I saw this Cud was it looked like a really big 'eye booger' What would cause a Cud like this

It's a die chip, not a Cud. A Cud is where part of the edge of the die breaks away, so it will always be touching the rim.

They eyebrow area and the nose are really common spots for cracks and little die breaks on FDR dimes. I was keeping them for a while, but it got to be too many. Hold out for a proper break like this:

Oh, I will not be holding on to the coin. It is already listed in our eCrater store. I was just wondering and thought it was funny.

On the other hand, captainfwiffo, the canyon on your dime is as dramatic as the crack on the Liberty Bell! WOW!
