Xavier. Believe it or not. I first bought them to resell on
ebay. But it didn't go so great for the common ones. Not a high enough premium on most of them even in high grade to bother with on
ebay. So I use them for my own metal smithing. However. If you are a collector. I will look for the coins you are talking about next time I visit. I would be happy to help ad to your collection at a discount. I find loads of them. And sorry if you feel what I do is "wrong". I have nothing against Germans. But, I am not someone who has any care for the Nazi party. I am half irish from my mother, and had a scottish grandfather on the other side, who married my grandmother who came from Poland. As well as her parents. I am not Jewish though. Irish and Polish catholic. But the stories I heard about what happened, are horrific. And I also did work for a Polish man who also ran away from Poland during that war. And his stories where horrible as well. So I have ZERO love for Nazi stuff. Can't help it. War sucks. But what a lot of those men did. Are just unspeakable. I do feel somewhat a little guilty because of people who collect the coins for a historic purpose. We all have coins we like to collect for different reasons. I have my area of coins I love to collect too. Mainly Newfoundland coins. And I hate seeing the Newfoundland coins in the dealers melt bin. I buy everyone from Nflnd I find even in the worst shape. And I have made a nice collection for a fraction of the book price. All the coins I buy out of that bin, as well as 99% of the foreign coins I buy. All go the the refinery anyway. The silver and gold rush has made it that so many coins are coming into that shop. They just dont bother with them anymore. I have found loads of gems in those scrap/melt bins. I found an OLD pop out coin the last time. It is a 75-100$ coin that was 5$! So I actually save a heck of a lot of coins. But the Nazi ones. Eh...if I see one I know is valuable. I'll pick it up. But otherwise. They are nice sized coins, most of them are 90% silver. And worth great for what I do. And btw. Most, if not almost all local jewelers use coin silver. Mainly from Sterling coins. But chances are, if you are wearing a handmade silver or gold ring. Its from a coin. I am also a jeweler btw.
Anyway. If you want. Write me a list of the coins you want or need for your nazi coin collection. And I will be happy to see if they are in the bins when I go. I also pick threw the copper, CuNi or clad foreign bins as well. So I see them in there too. Not the silver ones. but the bronze, zinc, and aluminum ones. And I did find one once that I pay 5 cents for and made 50 bucks. Anyway. Offer stands. If any 3rd Reich coins are there. I'll sell them to you for much much cheaper than book value. Or trade them since you collect them. I have about 6 of them right now. I'll look and see what I have left. A friend of mine took all the none silver ones I bought to try to sell. He is into WWII stuff. But, there is a lot more there.
Anyway...THANKS for the response guys. I was curious about that "4". I am knew to looking for errors, double dies ext. I do have a few more foreign coins with over dates ext. I dunno where to post them. Or if they are worth posting.
Ok all. Cheers and thanks again. -Ryan
