I have a question regarding the following bill. Its a series 1996 $50 note that is completely normal on the front of the bill, but on the back side about 1/4 of it is not printed fully, just a ghost image. This is a real note that I received for my birthday many years back from my grandmother, who withdrew the bill from a bank just days before giving it to me. Any ideas as to how much this note could be worth? I've included close ups of certain areas to eliminate doubts of authenticity. Man, that is one heck of an error note you got there. It's hard to tell for sure, but I think that notes is worth a couple hundred dollars. Maybe even $300 or more, if you got some good bidders. If you ever sell this note, and use ebay, make sure you have it ending on a Saturday or Sunday. You will get lots for this one. Ty

Thanks for the comments. Have either of you ever seen a piece like this before? I'm not one to sell collectable things, just someone who likes to know what things are worth to show to friends and such.

italianstallion, I see notes like that one on ebay all the time. And like I said, they usually sell for LOTS! I have two error notes that I'll post for yeah. The coin shop in town here has one note like mine and hes selling it for $200. Mine are in better shape and only have 4 notes between the two. So I would say they are worth around $200 or more a piece. Yours should sell for more, though. From what I have seen, anyways.

I am surprised quality control even let those out. I have never found one in curculation as they are grabbed up pretty quick. I think they are awesome bills. I love the tens and the fifty is a first for me. You two are lucky to even have em. I cant afford to pay the price for error notes. It took for ever to get what little I have. And what I do get is gonna be used to put this chick friends lil girl in college. I still have about 12 year's of collecting to go then I have to start over..If I am still here. I figure I got more years behind me than I do ahead of me.
