Sap,
You have an e-mail with an update.
Well, I hope you do anyway. After clicking send it came up with 5 reasons in red that it didn't send it. I have had this happen before and people seem to get their e-mail. If you didn't get it please let me know. Thanks.
Dean

Sap,
Sending another update. I would have just added this to my last post but since you are kind of time stamping these things and this involves another coin I posted again.

Answers for RenaL, snowman and triggersmob and updates for Irish (both of them) have been noted and logged. The contest is still open. I must say I am in awe of those of you attempting this without a Krause. I doubt I'd do as good as you folks are doing. We currently have a tie for first place. If I don't get an update from either of you folks to break the tie, (and no-one else posts a higher score), the person who sent in the highscore first will be the winner (see rule 2).

Altered answers noted and logged. We're now halfway through the time allocated for the quiz, and the answers received to date have been good... very good. Just not quite good enough to call a final victor yet. The competition is still open.

Sap, you have mail.
I can't wait until the end of the contest, After the time I spent searching these, I really want to know the correct answers for one or two coins there.

New and altered answers have been received and logged for the previous four posters.
We're getting close now... almost close enough to call a winner. But there are still a couple of questions some folks are only getting partly right. Calling the winner now wouldn't be fair on the other folks, who have answered those questions fully.
The following guide to my "half-point system" may be of assistance:
- Naming the imperial power of a coin issued in the name of a colony or dependency only scores half-a-point. For instance, saying "Germany" when the coin is from German New Guinea would only score half.
- Using an obsolete or anachronistic name for the correct place only scores half. For example, saying "Vanuatu" for a coin from New Hebrides, or saying "Roman Empire" for a coin from Italy would only score half.
- Spelling errors still score a full point - anyone can make a typo. Saying "Germnay" for a coin from Germany still scores a full point. (see, I'm not completely nasty...)
- A broad general geographic answer when the coin comes from a specific place scores zero. No points for saying "Chinese, or Japanese maybe" for a coin from Taiwan.
Collectively, all 20 questions have been answered correctly. Just not all at once by the same person...
