HOw in the world do people accomplish this? I am trying to show some family members that the coins that they love so much (Rainbowed and such), can be artificially created, but they think not.

I have browsed google, and I have seen it can be done in an oven, but that is all I have gotten. Can someone please post/PM me how to do this, as I want to get them to keep their cash, and buy something that is REAL! Also, if I accomplish this "Rainbow coin", I won't try to sell it... that is just muffed up.

Thanks in advance.

Take a shiny new penny and set it on the element on your kitchen stove. Turn it on high and let it heat up. When it starts to change color, grab it with a pair of pliers and toss it in a cup of water. Move quickly because it changes fast, but be careful not to burn yourself! You might get better results if the burner is hot first.

Place almost any coin in dish soap and allow it to dry with the soap still on. Naturally not all dish soaps will work the same
Go to almost any store that sells guns. Purchase some gun bluing solution. Rub that on almost any coin.
Place almost any coin in a dish with a raw egg and allow to just sit there.
Take old fashioned matches and crush the heads. Place in a dish, add a little water and add the coin to that.
Next time you make a pizza, place a coin in the middle while cooking. Just remember to take it out before you eat the pizza.
Some coins tone nicely if placed in a pot of dirt with a plant. Again remember that not all dirts are the same.
A list of how to tone a coin could go on and on and on.

Coins can be artificially toned with heat or chemicals but it is not possible to create all types of toning artificially. The most desirable types of toning can only be created through slow natural processes.
