just poured some more into my soak jar, it is a clear colour, its the glass jar I'm using gives it the yellowish tinge I just spotted

Exactly why a clear, clean dish or jar should be used.

About using acitone; I need to set up a sealed soak jar, not necessarly glass, without a rubber gasket or other seal that melts on exposure to acitone. Any suggestions?

Not sure why you would need a soak jar. Usually whatever you need Acetone for works so fast there is little need for a soaking. For coins if you left one in Acetone for 5 minutes or 5 years, would make no difference.
However, if you can find any scientific supply place, they would have regent bottles for sale. All glass for lsb work.
However, I've seen clear glass containers with a glass lid at some dollar stores. Glass jars, bottles, etc. with a glass cover or lid are common.
