Nice coin indeed ... hoping that someday my collecting focus will shift to the modern USA commemorative ... for now ... I'm enjoying all of your photos of these great coins.

He looks to be quite different to that on the half dollar. Intuitively, this portrait looks closer to realism.

I have a PF-70 of both designs but do not have any UNC versions yet. These things did cost a fortune when they first came out and I was one of them that thought these would be worth more than they are now

Then you would have a very rare circulated modern commemorative ... and I would be very jealous.

Thanks for the update.

I like the look the coin is getting. If you pocket piece it it will shine up and loose the high point toning at least. I would keep it on the window sill over the winter and then check back.

Ahh, the sweet sound of silver. Over the years I have had to count thousands of dollars in change drawers. I counted by sound as the coin returned to the drawer and I developed a sense of hearing when a silver coin was dropped into the clad ones.

cool idea yotie. I've thought about carrying a modern commem dollar, but I havent been able to bring myself to do it. I think you should carry it with you and when you get a hankering for some color, drop it back on that window. Either way, keep posting pics every couple months so we can follow the progression!

this founding father is one that I have in my modern commem collection and it is a real beauty.
