What is this small coin, I have searched but to no avail. As seen, the date is 1796 under a crown and ribbon?. Large cross on reverse and legend (very small) is something like :-
VIC?MD?ARCVPETIERD3(?)AB(?)ETMFPP.
Diameter 17mm. Weight 2g
I can find a link to an Italian site but that's it.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks
Brian

This seems to be a 2 denari of the Kingdom of Sardinia, issued in the name of king Victor Amadeus III C#50.
Here's a link to an image I found, but the coin is in a far worse condition than yours: http://www.omnicoin.com/coin/960981
