In 14 days I am turning 21, going out with the family, and am going to look at some key, or semi-key dates to start filling up my Buffalo nickel collection. So far, I've got 34-37 filled *kinda pathetic, I know* but I was wondering if there were any any in particular that I can make a present to myself of, but aren't wallet crushers. Thx for suggestions.
Rest in Peace

Mitemighty I turn 21 in just a few days too, happy early birthday

I dont think your collection is pathetic, everyone has to start somewhere, and everyone has to buy their first few coins of the series. I dont know whether you are trying to collect your quarters in g,vg,xf or au quality, but I suggest you take a look at 31s,24s,20d.

Here is a link to Numismedia, the prices on the chart there are pretty accurate on what you can expect to pay for a given year in a given grade. Check out the chart, write down a few dates that are in your budget, and take a notecard with you with the dates you want when you go to buy the coins.

And please, post some pictures of what you get when you purchase them, we all like to live through other's collections

34-p f-12, 35p f-12, 36p vf-20, 37p f-12. All are approx grades via RedBook. Like the philly mint coins because they have high mint #'s.

Just see what they have for sale, you've got a lot of options since you're early in your set : )

The best thing you should do is try to find a coin show in your area. Also, try flea markets. If you can find them, just go there with an open mind and buy what you need, want or just like. Even on the internet you should be able to find almost any date you want but I'd keep away from ebay. Other things you should try is asking all your friends, neighbors and relatives if they have any old coins laying around
