Here's another coin that arrived today. This coin doesn't disappoint--it looks nice, although capturing detail on a dark, glossy patina is a real challenge! It's hard to balance the reflections with details--I will need to find a new technique.

The coin looks better than I thought from your first post with sellers pics.

Nice shooting to bring out the details.

I have trouble shooting(waxed)glossy coins too. It's really irritating.

Thanks! I'm glad I succeeded at bringing out details.
The real challenge is showing how the portraits pop from the fields.
That will be another photographic technique to master.

Thanks! I took another photo that better captures the color and surfaces.
