BadThad Bedrock of the Community United States 20019 Posts	Posted 03/13/2012 11:57 pm VG-F, hard to tell from the pics. It does appear genuine. You definately need to do something about the corrosion. I don't think NCS would accept the job because it looks quite thick and has probably pitted the surface. The cost might be prohibitive too unless the coin has sentimental value. The easiest thing to do is to rinse it with acetone and put it into an airtite. I would at least do that ASAP. This is a tough, key-date coin, attempting any sort of conservation should be approached with experience and caution. I've seen a lot of people completely ruin coins like this.
