The New Jersey Obsolete is part remainder and half issued. It has one, of two signatures and is numbered but not dated. First example I've seen like that.

Nice adds wheatback - I particularly like the Welch note.

Wow, the last Kelly census only shows 13 notes of all kinds outstanding for the Buchanan bank!

I just need a large note from the bank now. That's gonna be just as tough.

Quote: A few scarce nationals. The Buchanan is very undervalued in the Kelly guide.. A very hard to find note and they usually go twice than what they list for. Very nice!

Great examples. The Thomas is one of my favorites.

Stellar additions Les, love that Thomas Treasury Note. Now to the obscure, from my favorite series, 1988A $1 E-R block . A single run of 6.4M notes. I wouldn't say rare, but scarce in CU condition.

Certainly hope the politically correct police don't learn that General Thomas was once a slave owner. After commanding African American troops during the war Thomas came to change his views and worked diligently for civil rights.

Thomas, the "Rock of Chickamauga", was a steady hand during the Civil War but lived in the shadows of Grant and Sherman. A one-time slave owner who, according to contemporary accounts and in defiance of societal norms, schooled the children of his slaves in many subjects including English.
Stever - Does this merit grading?
