Banknotes are like a business card. If you have long concerned with the banknotes of a country then you have a good chance to understand the past and present.
How can such a young country like the United States, be so powerful as it once was Rome? Why was there only one real war in the United States? Why have Germans, Irish people, Poles, French people, Italians and all the other ones no war had there?
Bills can not say everything about a country but they say very, very much. Banknotes are more than money and the economic foundation. They are a cultural and historical foundation.
I was only once in my life in the USA but I know politicians and places there of which today hardly anyone knows something. No one in Europe knows Hamburg in Iowa, only a few people here know the capital of North Dakota is named after the German Chancellor Bismarck.
US banknotes are so interesting.
Every time when I get a new national currency bill I want to know everything about the bank and the place.
I'm sure I do not know much about US banknotes but I'm sure I know more about US currency than of the English language. Sorry for my bad english but now I have time and I love it to speak or write about US paper money.
