I have had a cheap metal detector for a few years, and I'm looking into coin shooting, just as another way to increase my coin collection, but I am unaware of where I should go to do this.
I live in Texas, if anybody has any good locations to search for coins, please inform me.
I am specifically looking for 1943 Lincoln Cent. And also any year 20 cent coins.

I have a Liberty nickel that has been a victim of shooting. By the looks of it , it was hit by a low velocity pistol bullet. It is now scyphate.

I bought this as a 1937 Brit crown and it was really hard to get off my magnet

scan provided . Definitely not Canadian.
My only regret is the maker was not holding the coin at the time I put a high powered bullet through it

Cheers Mate, just having a wee bit of fun.
But seriously old town sites, sports grounds, old mine sites, old pubs even old abandoned gas stations are worth a bit of a look.
I knew exactly what you were referring to but I couldn't help myself

My two all-time favorite (public) spots would be old fairgrounds, and old ballfields, if you are looking for 100+ y.o. coins. My second favorite spot would be private front yards. For some strange reason tho, the property owners always direct me to the old dump site on the property, which isn't as bad as it sounds..
