I believe that it is a Liquor Tax(revenue)stamp issued by the IRS as a receipt of taxes paid. These stamps were placed on the item that was subject to the tax and that way revenue agents knew that tax had been paid on the inventory. That is a nice one though- fresh out of Prohibition and a half barrel at that

I thought it was cool. I have stamps and cant find it in any books anywhere
