I am wanting to buy a 1966 aust proof mint set and notice that some are advertised as a dark blue case version and some as a light blue case version. Was wondering what the difference of these are?
Other than the colour of the case there's no real difference. As far as I am aware there's no difference in scarcity of either the light blue or dark blue cases. I've looked at several dozen sets in cases of both colours and there's no different in the quality of coins either.
If you're looking for a good 1966 proof set look for one with untoned coins that have been handled correctly. The round 50c is tough to find in good condition and many sets have fingerprints.
