They can be purchased directly from the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing for less.

This is an un-educated question ( a fancy way of saying "dumb question" ). Are the sheets legit if you cut them? Or are they marked as replica. We tried to go to the Bureau of Engraving & Printing in Washington DC 3 years ago but we needed to sign up a day ahead of time to get the tour. Bummer! I wanted to get some sheets for the grand kids and myself! @ Wquinn thanks been to that site but still not sure if actual bills. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the currency sheets on the BEP website is the real deal, not replicas. I could not even see a hint of information on the website indicating otherwise.

Coincollect1:
The same ad from the World Reserve Monetary Exchange is also in many US newspapers. It is not a government agency but a private corporation. They bought sheets from the Bureau of Engraving and packaged them in fancy holders.
Bpoc:
The website that Wquinn has in the post is from the US Bureau of Engraving. I am not sure why you do not think their products are legit. They make the stuff. Also, you can visit the gift shop at the BEP in DC or FW without going on the tour.

these types of ads are in every major newspaper in the US, I never knew they went after Canadian newspapers also though. They always say something like "this area only" and usually have some type of special name or packaging and say there is a limited number that "just became available". This is just an ad and they charge double or even more than the items are worth and will ever get from a sale of them. This is one of the types of ads http://utah.bbb.org/article/bbb-cal...eading-23956 and you can just google World Reserve Monetary Exchange to read more about this type of thing. This is the BBB website about this "company" http://www.bbb.org/canton/business-...oh-23001053/ and it looks like they have been targeted once again (this time from the IRS), which is a good thing Quote: Internal Revenue Service and Secret Service On February 1, 2012, World Reserve Monetary Exchange was the target of an investigation by members of the Internal Revenue Service criminal investigations unit. This case is pending. We will update our report accordingly as information becomes available. and the BBB Edit: I see this is another case of where I should read every post before posting my own response again but if you look at the ad in my link you will see they use the same "In your area only" type of thing as you mentioned. I really never knew they did the same thing in other countries though Quote: This is an un-educated question ( a fancy way of saying "dumb question" ). Are the sheets legit if you cut them? Or are they marked as replica. If they are cut they can be spent just like any of the Federal Reserve Notes you may have in your wallet, they are made by the same people and are not replicas. The only difference between the made for circulation and made for collectors in uncut sheet form will be the serial numbers.

Since the sheets are way above face value to buy and are worth more to keep as a sheet; there should never be a desire to cut them into separate notes to spend them.
Some notes on that site aren't available for sale, since they ran out. Check out the $1 notes. They have some.
The BEP has a funny web site name (moneyfactory), but it is legit and it is the BEP. I have bought from them in the past. They used to offer free shipping. Not sure if they still do or not.

I understand they sell for more than face value so "they shouldn't be cut and spent" but I have seen on this site people finding uncut serial numbers in circulation so it has been done

Uncut sheet notes are genuine. You can: - Wrap presents.
- Create your own errors.
- Carry a sheet or two, cutting off what you need for purchases.
- Extra points for using pinking shears.
