That's a Roman Imperial, Probus emperor. Most Probus coins are very common, 2 out of ten on a rarity scale. Although, that reverse with the horse and rider is not real common but not too rare either. For a ebay market value, starting at around $45. Elsewhere, starting at about $20.
Found :) Thanks Probus AE Antoninianus. Rome, AD 279. IMP PROBVS P F AVG, radiate, cuirassed bust right / ADVENTVS AVG, Probus on horseback left, holding sceptre, right hand raised; captive beneath horse. Mintmark R-thunderbolt-Z. Cohen 40.
There is tons of information available on the web about ancient coins. If you want to do some reading I recommend Doug Smiths site. It is outstanding and full of great information. Also Helvetica is a downloadable data base of most of the Roman emperors. Wildwinds and Acsearch are also excellent data bases for all types of ancient coins.
