I saw a bracelet of seven 1883 Hawaiian dimes once and there was an elderly man who would walk down the hill from his house out onto the pier in San Clemente, CA wearing a belt of five dollar gold coins. The guys waist I would guess was about 29-30 inches, he was a very small man about 5 foot four/five inches tall. That was back in 1976-78 time period when I was with the 7th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton. Sometimes I think of whatever happened to that belt, he was in his late seventies or early eighties at the time.
