I am getting into these - but I was wondering about the date? Is something wrong here:

Bust halfs are my favorites. Overall it's a nice coin with many clear details. I think it may have been cleaned at some time, but I'm not an expert. Do you think someone rubbed an eraser or something abrasive over the date? Also, I'm curious about the mark on the face - can't tell if it's on the coin or maybe just the holder.

I see nothing wrong with this coin other than it has been cleaned in the past. It's a nice coin that should grade at VF-30.

Drats, looks like someone took a brillo pad to the coin. That's a shame.

Yeah the whole coin was scrubbed or dipped, but rather vigorously around the date it seems.

It still has nice details, though.

I remember when I was young rubbing pennies with an eraser. Looks like the same might have been done here. A little to vigorously.
