I have this 2006 Proof Set with the sterling silver 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, 50¢, 2$ and large .999 1$. It says on the sheet for the 2$ is 92.5% Silver and gold plated inner core. I just wondered if the inner core is silver or bronze (it doesn't say on the sheet).

Thanks

Pretty sure the inner core is silver as well, otherwise the composition information that is included with the set would be inaccurate (no mention of bronze).

Well, a part of the inner core isn't gold plated well and you can see silver, so I'm guessing it's silver. I'll post pics anyway.

If you look at the rim of the inner core, you'll see a part isn't plated, so I think it's silver.

Top left corner is the gold plated toonie. Looks like yours. Sorry for the bad pics

What does your info sheet say about the toonie.

That silver penny is awesome, I would've liked it better if they did it proof instead of brown-colored though.

99.9 pure silver coin. with the inner part gold plated. And I like it being "brown" because that's the true color of the penny. (not exact color)

I hope my dealer gets a 2011 ``100th Anniversary of the Striking of the 1911 Canada Silver Dollar`` set (in the wooden box) or the ``1812-2012 selectively gold plated dollar set`` soon and hopefully sells them me for cheap. Those are amazing.
