I found this 1982 penny with what looks like, for lack of a better word, splatter. I have enhanced the photo, brightness and contrast, to bring out the splatter. The splatter is raised I am not sure if it's under the copper coating or part of the copper coating. Any ideas?
Welcome to CCF! Bubbles under the plating...first year of zinc lincolns (zincolns, if you will). Let alone to environment they would eventually burst and cause what is known as zinc rot...
