I have Liberty and Sacagawea dollars, both of them colorized. The paint seems to not be properly lined up with the letters and picture. I was wondering if this would raise the value? Any information would be very much appreciated.

Welcome to the site, Lacey!

I don't think any value would be added to your coins for the colorization to be off a bit.

To be honest, the colorization thing is a gimmick used primarily by Home Shopping Network coin hustlers to pass off coins as 'investments' when they aren't. Colorized coins can be enjoyable to look at and that is where they derive their worth, but most collectors view the paint to be post-mint-damage that adds no monetary value to the coin itself.

Since the colorization was done privately, outside the mint, errors in it are unlikely to attract collector interest.

For coins of other countries where the mints themselves apply the colouration, such as Australia, colouration errors are much more interesting.

The colored applications are not done by the US Mint so it does not affect the value at all. However, most collectors consider such things to be altered coins and would not consider them to be worth more than $1 anyway. As Sap mentioned, many world mints do create colorized coins and some of them are high quality and eye appealing. For US issues, the private marketers tend to be a bit sloppy as you have noticed and that tends to add to the dislike of them.
