Would this dinged up Peace dollar make G4? I'm pretty sure my drandfather pulled it from circulation, so the price was definately right...

Technically yes, but with the damage it would only be a filler coin.

I wouldn't count on more than twice melt value.

I wouldn't part with it if your grandfather pulled it from circ. Pass it down as such.... An heirloom.

Oh, I have absolutly no intention of selling it, I was simply just curious. When I find an upgrade I can hardly bring myself to sell a coin I bought at a pawn shop a month ago, so a coin with actual sentimental value will be in my collection forever...

Actually, I don't think I have ever sold a coin, I have traded bullion for coins, but have never sold one that I can remember...

Edit* Actually I have given/sold a few coins to friends to try and get them into coins...

It looks like it may have made a couple of trips through the dryer. See how the rim is 'folded-up' in places. This is more likely if it was kept as a pocket piece.

If this coin came from my Grandfather, you would only get it from me after I died... Keep it in the family!
