I went to a site to order 2x2 cardboard holders. They had Cowens, thicker ones, and thinner ones made in Canada. Are
the Canadian ones OK, Mylar windows? I really don't want thick ones.---John

If the thin Canadian ones are Mylar then they are ok. I don't like the thick ones either they look clunky and take up more space in a coin box. Is there a way to find out if the thin ones are made of Mylar?

There are many manufacturers of 2x2 flips. Unfortunately none that I've seen have a marking or info on them as to where they are made and by whom. Due to that they could well be made in China or anywhere. At a coin show a dealer that sells them had several different thicknesses of them and no name on the boxes as to who made them. Also, this makes it impossible to know if Mylar or what is used.
Good Luck.
