AuldFartte Pillar of the Community United States 830 Posts	Posted 02/04/2007 12:58 pm I have been bitten by the currency bug, and I want to start a type set of US currency, starting with silver certificates (small size), then small gold certs, then move to some large sized notes. Tykimeister Pillar of the Community United States 882 Posts	Posted 02/04/2007 3:50 pm Start off with buying $1 Silver Certificates. You can get the 1957 and 1935 notes very easily. Then get a 1934 silver certificate with the funny back. Then get a 1928 silver certificate. Then a 1923 silver certificate. All can be bought for $20 or less in good circulated condition. But that 1899 Silver Certificate is going to cost like $100+ in VF+ condition. The 1929 series notes can be fun. You can find banks that issued notes in your city or a city close by. Some are very expensive, but most are reasonable in price. FRN notes, the ones you can still find in circulation, can be fun to collect. I have lots of them, and some can be quite valuable.
