I always take a close look at my '72s for doubling and I came across this one.. om not sure what to think.

Hard to say from this picture. The 9 looks thicker at the top. Maybe some photos of the rest of the lettering?

The date is the only place on the coin that looks at all unusual.

Looks like it took a hit or two flattening out the numbers giving the appearance of a thicker number.PMD IMHO By the way great pictures

I'm with jasper;it was impacted and flattened,therefor PMD.
