No, they were circulated in other years. They made lots of 2000s.

It was also 2001 and I'm not sure about if they had the dollar program to buy a $250 box of rolls for any other years too?

You're welcome. I looked up my order history and in 2009, I did buy a box of Native American dollar coins and they are in circulation now. They renamed the coin, once they started doing the reverse design changes each year and in the link below, you can see the mintages take a big increase from that.

The 2000's were made for circulation. The 2001's were also made for circulation but the mintage was only about a tenth that of the 2000's. None of the 2002 - 2008 Sac's were made for circulation but they are sometimes encountered because people bought roll sets and 250 coin bags from the mint for a premium price searched them and then dumped the rejects at the bank.

The 2001 coins are seldom encountered because the typical draw down of dollar coins from the Fed is 6 million coins a month. They managed to distribute close to 200 million 2000's in 2000. This meant that there was ten years worth of 2000 Sacs in the vaults ahead of the 2001's. Then in 2007 the President dollars were struck and the Fed was flooded with unwanted President dollars coins. most of the 2001 coins are probably still in the Fed vaults and there is now a 17 year supply ahead of them at current draw down rates.
