I put down $20 for shipping costs, so I'm pretty well covered there unless they go out to the west coast.

You can actually ship for a bit cheaper than that using a USPS Flat Rate box which has a weight limit of 70lbs, a medium box is $10.85 and a large box is $14.65. Online postage rates for self-printed labels are less than paying at a post office plus the online rate includes free Delivery Confirmation. You can even schedule a mail pickup at your home address so you do not have to lug 20+ lbs of quarters to the post office.

I contacted the guy and offered them to him for 600. Have yet to hear back from him but offered Sunday as a day for the deal.

I concur that you will most likely not be able to beat the $600 offer on ebay and I am even a bit surprised that anyone offered that much. If you do the local transaction, make sure you get cash instead of a personal check and for the sake of safety, arrange for the meeting to take place in a safe area such as the parking lot of your local police station.

"Wouldn't it be funny if he was reading this"

LOL

I've been worried about this since about 4 p.m. today. Guy hasn't responded to my email yet. I told my wife....that would be just my luck.

LOL at "justcarl's" post

But I will tell you one thing, though. I've watched them on ebay, and they are selling above face value. Do a search for them on there and check out a couple of the auctions. One guy has 2 rolls worth and they were 33 dollars the last I checked.

I think you guys are absolutely right in that 600 is the best I'll do, but I feel pretty confident that if I let that auction go to it's end that I'll do no worse than 500. I could be wrong, but what you might be missing is the fact that you guys are informed around here. Most people on ebay are not. They are regular morons in society. 8 Days to go in the auction, and 7 people are watching. Now, 6 of them might be you guys, LOL, but I honestly feel that I'll do no worse than 500.

If this guy doesn't respond to my email, and instead he's reading this, then I guess we'll see how it ends up!

I agree that you will definitely get more than face value on ebay... people are dumb. You can list the new Presidential dollars as a "gold" dollar and people will pay $30 for it. Seen it before. lol.

Exactly. 1 roll is going for double the value on there in a lot of places. I do think it would be foolish to think my collection would go for double the value, but it does give me reason to think I could make double if I'd sell them one roll at a time.

Well, good news, the fish is still on the hook! Will meet him tomorrow afternoon. Thanks again, everyone.
