Went to the coin show to check it out. Ended up with 100 ounces of silver and 10 grams of gold. The coolest thing I found was a sheet of 30 Pandas straight from the mint, sealed with individual air-tights. Never opened. Speaking of animals, also picked up a roll (25) Moose Maples. I also found some older JM 10 oz bars and some random JM/E 1 oz rounds. Provident was there and gave me a free t-shirt with a travel mug which was nice of them. It has the company logo on it. Cool. Has anyone seen the sheets of pandas? I have never owned any so I'm really excited!! Please let me know thoughts. Edited by tripncoins 04/13/2012 5:42 pm

I hate to tell you this but those China Pandas are fakes. No, I'm just kidding, of course What year are they? I've never seen them in sheets like that. Just individual, doubled sealed. It's cool, though. Were they expensive? Pandas usually garner quite a premium. Great haul. I once bought 20 oz. of silver in one fell swoop and I thought that was something.

@ Traevin - I'd have a heart attack if they were fake but these dealers are very well trusted. It is one of the scariest thoughts though come selling time. In terms of price, I actually paid 45 per panda = $1350 for the sheet. Was it expensive? maybe, but that is subjective. This particular sheet is 2012. It goes against my bullion policy to pay more than spot (especially this premium) but I had to have it!! Everything else I was picking up was in the $33-34 range.

No. Not expensive at all, considering what people pay on ebay for pandas. You could sell them all today and turn a $300 profit with ease. There's one going for $51 at auction with two hours until the snipers jump in. Wait till silver gets back into the $40's and then figure a $600-800 profit. Pretty smart buy. I. am. jealous. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-CHINA-...em4164bf9339

Wow, crazy pandas. Even 8 million mintage wouldn't stop this madness.
$45 is a really good price. I think that's basically the selling price in China, at present.
I watched a video on youtube the other day of a guy showing his 2012 panda. He said the reason why it's released so late this year is because the Mint was waiting for the silver price to go up. That's very interesting in that even the biggest dealer would consider selling at high.

That is a sick haul nice score! I did nearly get sick When I read T's first line, lol.... I was board today and clicked on one of those 200 oz. silver an 10,000 an oz. gold adds, which in fact was a link listed in the spot price section here that I clicked on, an it turned out to be a link for the US money reserve.... Basically, it just pointed to all the fundamental things we all talk about here or most leading to the eventual price push. The estimated industrial demand by 2015 is basically off the charts. An to say it is not gonna happen, that is like the RARE fellow who said to his buddy Billy Bob...."Well heck far Billy Bob, them there cellular phones are never gonna catch on! They will be like them 8 track and Beta tapes", rof .... I am from T.N., so I am allowed to stereotype us, as sometimes I am asked about kissing my sister from others from other states, lol..... An the article for gold is titled 10,000 dollar gold by such an such, man just imagine if that pipe dream actually came to pass. Silver I could see, maybe even 4 to 5 grand an oz. in real bad days to come, but if gold does ever hit 10,000 an oz., good chance the dollar will be a long forgotten memory, and we will all have something new from DuPont or something, called the patriot mark, lol.... Sorry for the rant in the pic thread, just thought it would give us all some hope, never a bad thing..... You Joe's of the world may say...."Well Hawk, silver an gold are pullin back an movin sideways these days." And to that I would reply that like anything just a matter of time an change and the powers to be MAY be trying to shake the weak hands loose in the meantime, which is not gonna happen over night, rather over a period of months, maybe even a couple of years.....

sheet of panda is hard to find. it's hard to ship it and keep the sheet intact.

I would say for storage to take them out of the sheet and store the sheet elsewhere. I don't believe it adds any value to the Pandas as all the Capsules come in sheets of 30. I love Pandas and bought a few just can't get past the $12 over spot. You are starting to do it big are you over 1k oz yet?

If the sheet can be cut in a way that preserves the seal, you want to keep those double sealed, TBK. It's the only way for a buyer to know for sure that the coin has never been handled.
