Ok, you have bought 1000 Wheat cents here and 1500 there plus many strikes of 100/200. You have gone thru them and picked the gems, what the heck do you do with the rest. Take them to the bank and victimize benVA when he goes roll hunting (just kidding, Ben) . Do they really have much value at this point? They won't let yo melt them and my wife is sure they are going to break the floor. Maybe they are destined to die in a container in the closet until my collection passes on and the process starts again. Jim

They are worth between 3 and 4 cents each. If you can get a whole bag (5000) then you can expect to get about $150 for it on ebay. TraderNick used to buy them but I don't know if he still does

You could hold onto them until 2009 and see what the prices will do. That will be the 100th Anniversary of the Lincoln Cent and perhaps the end of the cent but, that issue is still questionable. Or...I have a box of 100 tubes and am 98% done with filling each tube with 50 coins from each year from 1909 to current. The sucker weighs a lot! Or...let us know what dates you have and sell them here! (or trade)

You could help some of the collectors here they might need a date you have to fill a empty hole in there album. Maybe you can work up a trade for something you need that would be one collector helping another.
Bruce.

I bought 5000 wheat cents at my local coin shop for $120. If you want to sell them for this price, I would buy some. 5000 wheat cents on ebay go for over $200 easily, nohope. Ty

Jim, I would be happy to do a trade with you. I am trying to put together a Lincoln set and still need plenty of Wheaties. Not to easy to find here in Aus. Let me know. Steve

One more suggestion is to check out the coppercoins.com web site. I purchased both the books advertised there and ended up going back through all the wheats all over again. Found some I would never have known about. And one that is worth lots and lots of money. So in my case the books paid off.

You could make up little bags of them and give them to the trick-or-treaters at Halloween! You never know, you just might get some little kid into collecting! Rachel

A friend who went to the ANA Convention in Denver with me bought 1,500 Wheats at face value. I think he is also trying to figure out what to do with them.
