O.K., I have not gotten any Academy bars yet, but posted about this a couple weeks back (I mistakenly said old pour APMEX bars, in fact old pour Academy bars) , and I can get bars just LIKE this ebay example, a bit smaller, or larger, up to 24.4 oz., for 35 bucks per ounce out the door..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACADEMY-NEW...em4ab5db5b37I did not have enough with me to get a larger bar, as the smallest was 4.4 oz. and listed at 150 bucks out the door (that is just over 34 oz., sweet deal on HARD to fine bars), but I did have 105 to spend and I got the Silvertowne bar an two 2011 Canadian Wolf series for 35 each as well, and this guy will take that all day. Pictures to come, and you can bet these Academy bars will be in my hoard an listings before long.... Edited by Silverhawk74 04/16/2012 9:04 pm

Yes thanks guys I knew the wolfs were a solid buy. I would have picked up three but only two were in her case. This lady who runs this store is a bit odd to say the least. Just keeps a dozen or so items in her case, an she has this weird security guy who comes out from the back an just stands there, lol. Creeps me out, and you can tell when I asked her about more of her stock, she was apprehensive or paranoid to say the least an is a master of giving up very little information, via her reply of a simple yes to my inquiry of more bars an other items, lol..... I told her I was coming back to get more of the Academy bars as they are real hard to find and perhaps there will be more wolfs. An that guy above has his listed at buy it now well over double spot. I figure those bars an the wolfs at that price would always bring me a decent return on ebay starting them at a dollar with free shipping for example....

Nice story, Hawk. I'll be there for the free wolf. Oh, free-shipping wolf. haha. I think it will make a good company to my lonely cougar and moose. :)

Silverhawk74, I concur with swrbxxx. Flip those bad boys on the Bay and pocket some coin for yourself. Tremendous score I might add. I have been searching ebay for sometime and those bullion rounds fetch a hefty price. Congratulations!

I hardly believed it at the time but I saw one of Wolves sell for $67 last weekend. Won't be hard making 25%+ profit on these.

Why is the wolf bringing so much? I've got the cougar and moose and have only paid a bit over spot for them.

@aandabooks the wolf sells for a huge premium because it is the first in the series, yes the mintage might be the same all around but this was the coin to get. I've seen these fetch $80 in bidding wars.
Hawk, clean them out of these wolves trust me the profit from them will be more than the old pour academy bars. Just think on average $20 over spot could put some extra $$$ in your pocket or extra silver/gold/toned coins in your collection

No doubt guys, if she has more of the wolfs I am gonna get all I can....
I have to assume they keep a massive hoard of silver in the safe back of the house, as her boyfriend who is a bit more loose lipped, told me the first time I stopped in couple of weeks back that they did indeed have five gallon buckets of those old pour Academy bars. I am hoping they may have a similar stash of the wolf series coins as well....
