True, unfortuately. So many people just take jars, cans, boxes of coins laying around to a bank. When times are tuff, that is what people do. So coins from way, way back just get into change.

Sometimes not easy if they've been in circulation for a while. Best thing is to get a copy of a book on coins. There are web sites that specialize in just the
Lincoln Cent too. Not sure but I think it's called The
Lincoln Cent Resourse or something like that. Also, naturally a copy of the
Red Book would help. Proof coins usually have the appearance of a coin that has been polished with a buffing wheel. Unfortuately many people do polish coins to make them look like proofs.
