Hello and welcome!

Without picture I cannot be 100% certain, but it doesn't sound good. At the time the D mintmark was a designation of the Dahlonega Mint (the Denver mint wasn't open till early 1900's). But as I understand it all coins from the Dahlonega Mint were gold, they did not produce dollar coins. The only mintmarks on dollars around that time were "O" or "S", but no mintmarks in 1855 particularly.

Never mind! You must be talking about a gold Small Indian Head dollar! There's supposed to be 1855D one. Very low mintage, very high catalog value = very good chance it's counterfeited.
So good pictures (of both sides) are a-must! Also check the weight, should be 1,672 grams (I used European punctuation instead of US).

I have made black circle around "fingerprints" of the coin. The same "fingerprints" can I see on real 1855 D on internetpicture.

I see that "problematic" areas are highlighted.
I found an example on the web of 1855D dollar which seems to have absolutely the same "problems".

I viewed several of the 1855-D dollars on an auction site.
Quite a few show the same "fingerprint" which are clash marks--can those be faked?
I'm inclined to hope your coin is real--and very valuable. Good luck!
