Carinus AE Antoninianus. IMP C M AVR CARINVS NOB C, radiate cuirassed bust right / VIRTVS AV-GGG, Carinus standing right, holding scepter, receiving globe from Jupiter (or Carus) standing left, holding scepter; star above, gamma between, XXI in ex. RIC V-2 208
Antoninianus, 3.7g, 20.64mm
I am somewhat uncertain about this attribution. I'd appreciate if someone could check my work. For one, there seems to be no indication in RIC V-2, that there is a break in AV-GGG.
This is the second coin in the Carus family set. I was told that all three of these coins are from Antioch. This particular attribution says Siscia. It's hard to tell when they have XXI in exergue.
