I know it's from Iran. My guess is that it's a 1.3oz 22kt gold 5 Pahlavi coin with the Shah of Iran on it. Being unable to read farsi I'm unable to figure out the exact date but my guess would be late 70's?

It does look like 5 Pahlavi. The date is SH 1352, or 1973.

Krause lists the 5 Pahlavi at 40.6799 grams of 90% gold, not 22kt. The all gold weight listed is 1.1771 oz. The 1973 coin has a mintage of 2,100.

I said 22kt because I was thinking about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_gold. It's a common alloy of gold and I knew it was 22kt and ~90%. I guess it's actually 91.667%.
