My first ever online ancient purchase, so I got this a while ago. One of my best condition coins from this era.

That's a fairly nice for the first coin purchase. I think my first purchase was in poorer condition. I'll have to look at mine and see. My first actual ancient coin was given to me by JW.

Some years back, my very first Roman coin was in rather poor condition--and I overpaid for it.
It may explain why I got disinterested. The second time around, I bought a nicer "first" coin.
You chose well!

I finally figured out what was the first coin I purchased back in November of last year.

Good picture of a good lookin' coin!

My first was a 9 or 10 buck Arcadius..tried to do a picture of it but didn't come out good.

Thanks guys! Pretty nice first purchase gil-galad Amazingly, I still don't have a nice campgate, and may not have one for sometime soon (right now looking at other Romans I'm more interested in )

Here are my actual first two ancients; I bought them at the same time at a local coin show in April of last year.

Besides a nice original patina you can see the details on the face and a good legend on the obv. I like the faces on the reverse and the chi rho. Overall thats a really nice coin.
