I handle a lot of money at my work, and since discovering that there are people who collect bills of all types I've been keeping my eye out for rare/weird stuff that isn't silver certificates. Yesterday at work I found a series 1995 $5 bill, small portrait, in . . . I have no idea how to grade bills, but I'd say it's about as worn now as you would have expected it to look in 1997 or so. There's one crease down the middle that's pretty obviously from being stuck in somebody's wallet and a smaller, not-perfectly-vertical one on the very left-hand side to the left of the printing.
Is there anybody here who wants such a thing, or should I just spend it back into circulation?

It may be worth to hold on to. Would you be able give us the serial number or post a scan of both sides ?

Post-a-pic! I know a couple of people who collect "small heads".

Serial number is J37035606B, and this bill is apparently out of Kansas City, Missouri. I don't have a scanner, but I'd be happy to post a picture of it after a couple of hours in a book and dampened with distilled water (I want to see if I can take out that tiny crease on the left-hand side--it's so slight it doesn't even look like a fold, more like a bend).
. . . . actually, I should ask before I do that, I keep distilled around for household cleaning (if you like shiny mirrors . . . never mind, I digress) because of the lack of chemicals in it, but will it damage a bill's value? I was told a safe way to clean super-grungy silver certificates without damaging them was a drop of Dawn in a bowl of warm distilled water and then pressing in a book, but I don't know if that applies to newer bills (sans Dawn, of course). I'll wait to hear back before doing that, then!
As for holding onto it--if I held onto every interesting piece of money that came my way I'd soon be living in a shoebox with my collection taking up my room, instead of the other way around! I'd be happy to trade it even-Steven for a nice $5 from one of the years I'm looking for to hold onto for my niece and niecephew (to be announced: July 2012), which would be 1959, 1978, 2008, and of course now 2012 as well.

Noooooo! Don't try to make a paper bill any better, other than the dry "book-press". Some people have ironed, washed, etc... and wound up devaluing the bill in the process.

Okay, can do (hence why I asked!) :-D I'll take a couple of pics and then go put my Stephen King collection to good use. I'll edit this post momentarily with pictures after they're taken/uploaded/sized/etc. EDIT: Here they are! Before anybody's heart stops, I promise I double-washed my hands and did not use lotion. I'm just shooting after dark in a room with what our apartment managers like to call "natural ambient lighting" (translation: lots of little lamps instead of a light from the fan, like sane people would have) and wanted to make sure the problems I noted before were highlighted.
