Because that's the only thing that determines whether it is 18b (small head) or 20b (large head)(and yeah it looks like I'll end up re-attributing this one as well, I currently have it as 18b). bobbyhelmet Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2838 Posts	Posted 04/21/2012 1:28 pm It looks like the large head Valiant, 20b, minted around 297-298AD. Interestingly after this series was produced the mint closed for 6 years and production was shifted to Thessalonica (about 250 miles West). The mint did not re-open until the 2nd Tetrarchy in about 308. It would have been a shame if this celator found himself out of work as he was obviously at the top of his game.
