I promise, last one for today Got it along with the Constantine Vot XX many months ago. It doesn't show but some of the remaining patina on the reverse still shines.

I really like the details on this one--and the patina helps me imagine what these looked like during Roman times.

Nicely centred and quite a bit of silvering left, attractive bust too - Looks like Heraclea, HTDelta mintmark?

Thanks everyone!
Bobby, your right about the mintmark, but would his bust be a large or small head? Because that's the only thing that determines whether it is 18b (small head) or 20b (large head)(and yeah it looks like I'll end up re-attributing this one as well, I currently have it as 18b).

It looks like the large head Valiant, 20b, minted around 297-298AD.

Interestingly after this series was produced the mint closed for 6 years and production was shifted to Thessalonica (about 250 miles West). The mint did not re-open until the 2nd Tetrarchy in about 308.

It would have been a shame if this celator found himself out of work as he was obviously at the top of his game.
