News item just released:
Here you are, the five descriptions of the designs being submitted by the Governor’s office to the U.S. Mint as finalists for the official 2007 State Quarter program.

* Bucking horse and rider state logo, showing only the outline/silhouette and the words “The Equality State”.

* Bucking horse and rider state logo, with some details of things like the mans body and the horse’s muscles, along with the words “The Equality State”.

* Bucking horse and rider state logo with detail and a typical Wyoming background, along with the words “The Equality State”.

* Bucking horse and rider state logo with detail and the Teton mountain range in he background along with the words, “The Equality State”.

* Old Faithful with the words, “The Equality State”.

I’m putting my money on old “Steamboat” and yelling “Powder River let her buck!”

I don't know where these people got their information, but it couldn't be firther from the truth or accuracy. The ones that I posted came from the Governors office this morning May 21, 05 and these are the ones the Mint will be sellecting from.
Thought you would want to know.

Hey OldDan that bucking horse at the end of your post is pretty neat. I guess a bucking horse is a good one for Wyoming, I just wish one of the bear country states would produce a quarter with a big black bear or grizzly on it.

That honor should fall to the great state of Montana, as they even have a University Team called the Grizzlies.
That and the overflow of Griz from Yellowstone are filling most of the mountain ranges up and around the park. Wyoming, Montana and Idaho have Griz coming out of their wood work. Could you use a few down there with the gaters?

I don't know about that. One big ole grizzly might whipe out the whole Florida black bear population. Even as black bears they're pretty light and timid. I don't think they'd do too well if they got in the way a grizzly. [:0]
