I was travelling the states yesterday and picked up a box of pennies. Right now I'm looking for wheat cents. Is there any other pennies I should be looking for? thanks

Some have started collecting copper cents (pre1982) there are many websites on good ones to collect but I'm not allowed to post them yet. If you look in the modern us error and variety forum you can find some good sites. Best of luck

You might want to be on the look out for some "S" mintmarks also. Something else to look for is BU coins.

Also look out for WAMs( Wide AM from 1998,1999 and 2000) and if your really feeling lucky also keep and eye out for CAMs( Close AM) from 1992 and 1992D. Here is a great web sight to help with your search. Coppercoins.com. Good luck and happy hunting.

WOW, if you find a CAM from 1992 and 1992D in just one box,
we will not ever let you back into USA

Do you need a bank account to do that? Which bank did you go to?

The copper content of pennies from 1981 and earlier is worth well over $0.01, so you might want to save all of those!

Also because of the mintage number, I keep 2009 pennies.
