I bought this at an online coin auction for $170. It comes in a GSA holder. I put my bid in several days ago and basically forgot about it thinking I'd never be top bidder. What a pleasant surprise when I got my invoice tonight. The pictures are ones that were taken by the auction company so sorry if the picture quality isn't the greatest. I'd be interested to know how you'd grade this coin. Thanks.
peter.

Tough one to grade from those pictures. It may be around MS-63 or so. It appears that you got a good deal.

You would need to post better pictures once you get it. The reflection is covering too many details.

I would say that it was a good deal as well. I paid a skosh over a double deuce for my 1884CC GSA Cartwheel. Mine garnered an MS62 grade from ANACS. Yours appears to have a cleaner cheek, so...MS63+. Nice one!

CC's are addictive. My first was my GSA then I just picked up a 1877-CC SLD...and there is no known antidote.

They'd probably give you a 63. They don't like to give out 64's in GSA holders in general, but I think 63 is what it would grade at. Nice coin! Nice buy too! GSA holders usually bring a premium, even more so if you got the box and paper.

Thanks everyone for your input. I was thinking 63 myself with a chance at 64 so I might not be too far off.
