Hello everyone, I'm new here, but not new to collecting. Well, I have only been collecting for 2-3 years, so you could say I'm new :s. I thought I would just introduce myself for those interested anyway. As I said I have been collecting for 2-3 years. The first note I remember collecting was a 10 rupee note from india I got from my uncle. I liked this one in particular for the tiger, elephant and rhino. The second note was from a friend , a turkish 1,000,000 lira note. These notes I had received a long time ago before I was a serious collector, and lost those notes when I started. It all started when I had a friend from India, who shown me money from india. I remembered the 10 rupee note that my uncle had gave me, and he gave me one. During this time I was living in the middle east, and had several nationality friends. I had a pakistani friend who gave me a 5 rupee note, and a filipina friend who gave me a 20 peso note. I only kept them just as a reminder of them. But when other friends knew of this, they all gave me different notes, Jordanian dinar, United Arab emirate dirham etc, then when I finally got a 5 Kenyan shilling I decided I would start to collect paper money. The original reason I started to collect was from friends. I then wanted to collect money from friends from every country. I soon learnt that not every country has its own currency, and others no longer make their own(Panama, Europe etc). It became evident that if I wanted to continue collecting every country I would have to buy some. Now I have stopped collecting from friends(unless they give me, I dont mind.), and started to seriously collect money. I have over 100 different countries. I also collect any banknotes which I think look nice, even if I already own one of that countries notes. I like the world war 2 paper money also. My favourite note is hard to say, I have a few. I really like the russian 1909 5 rubles note, the design never ceases to amaze me, considering the printing technology of the time, the amount of detail is brilliant. The modern russian notes are nothing compared to the pre-revolution notes in my opinion. You can really see why the pre-revolution government/rulers didnt get along to well with the communists when you see the notes haha. The 10 rupee indian note (possibly because it was my first note, but also the animal images). Costa Rica, 5 colones, it is a really nice bright colourful note. I also like the curacao 1940s 1( I think one gulden) gulden note( It is a red one) and the panama 1 balboa note, they both look royal/important somehow. Anyone reading this, what are your favourite banknotes/banknote? Also what was your first note you got? Thanks for reading, I know its alot. Anyone with questions, fire away.

On another side, I'm looking for 6 paper currencies from different places, I would like to know if anyone has these, or knows where I can get hold of them, or even somewhere which may have them. I know at the moment I cant buy or sell here. I am just inquiring about them. I will provide what I know about them. Any denomination of the Japtan island banknotes. I believe they were cent notes in different denominations (5,10,25 etc). These were printed I believe in the 50s in the marshall islands during the atomic bomb tests on Japtan island. They were printed by the US navy. The next is a Midway island 10 goonies short snorter note. This also has the test "The land of sand and Scaevola". The only denomination known is 10 goonies. Goonies are a local bird which lives on the Midway island. It was printed in the 1940s during world war 2 by the US navy. Leeward islands 2 shilling and six pence, these were printed in the caribean. There are more denominations I believe, I am looking for any denomination. There are some rumours that these notes do not exist though, if anyone knows for sure it would be a great help! A 1903 Turks and Caicos islands one pound note. I dont know about any other denominations, but if they exist please let me know. A johnston island 5 cent chit. I don't know much about this note but anything provided will help me alot. I believe it is a world war 2 'chit' note printed again by navy or military crews. Finally a ulithi lagoon 10 cent chit. I heard this was printed in world war 2 also, and was printed by the US navy for use on the ulithi lagoon. I have seen this note sell for 11.50 dollars, unfortunately I missed the chance to get it.( http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...t_711wt_1396 ). There is another seller on ebay who wants around 300 dollars for one, after seeing the first one sell for around 12 dollars, I personally think the second is asking for a bit much. I will upload a photo of the 6 notes I have mentioned for reference for everyone here to see. I hope it will help you, and in return eventually help me :p. Thank you, ash.

edit: Ok the picture was too big, I will add a link to my facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...23140&type=3 hopefully everyone can see that. Thank you again.

Yes, I remember getting several indian friends to look out for the older notes whenever they went on holiday, I got hold of 1, 2, 5 rupee notes as well as old 5, 10 and 100 rupee notes. My favourite was always the 10 rupee though. What was your favourite note silver searcher? Also what was your first you note you got?
