That makes much sense Ed, but any COA or claimed Assay is all based on nothing more then trust, as any COA is easy to fake then any bar or coin by far I figure....

I simply would list them once made an trying to sell, an say honestly how they came to be. Explain I work in a place where I buy much scrap jewelery an learned to refine it myself. And since I consider myself an expert on Pm's at that point (once I have poured a bar with my own hands and know for 100% fact it is all silver, then I have now left novice status behind, lol), then you as a buyer got nothing to worry about an I always accept returns if not 100% happy, an none of this..."No returns due to volatile nature of market", true or not....

Thanks, Hawk. Yeah, I would figure that way as well. Of course, our trust level usually goes up when we deal with a very well known business or mint. The PM bars from Perth Mint, for example, often come with a built-in COA as part of their packaging. I would tend to trust these when bought from a reliable company but probably not so much from an unknown individual.

I have to admit buying scores of rounds from sellers on ebay that weren't attached to any known mint. They all passed the sound, magnet, and eyeball test but I understand what you mean about trusting reputable sources. That's why Perth and the RCM can put out silver proofs for around $100 an ounce and buyers of those brands seldom bat and eye.

Those who are in the PM market and have EARNED the trust of the PM buying and collecting public have paid their dues and deserve the trust that they have earned. It is possible for new-comers to do the same but it takes some time.

I have some poured bars from an acquaintance of mine. They are poured and top notch, nothing like some of the terrible stuff I've seen made by others. No offense to those who have tried, but if you want to sell it please take pride in your own work.
